Intra-family succession
If no one from among the existing employees feels called to be an entrepreneur, an external search must be made (MBI). In a careful search and selection process, a great deal of know-how and management experience can be brought into the company. What applies in general is particularly important with MBI: the interpersonal chemistry must be right!
A successful, family-internal company succession is based on a fair and transparent selection process. It takes into account the will and abilities of the successor and ensures the financial independence of the departing entrepreneur.
Once the succession concept has been determined, it is optimized for tax purposes. Taxes should never dictate the concept. The situation of the entrepreneur's spouse and the successor's siblings who are not directly involved in the succession process must also be taken into account.
The definition of clear rules and procedures for the transition, including the preparation and training of the successor, are important cornerstones for the successful implementation of family succession.
